Paula Mellado received her Chemical Engineering degree from University of Chile. She continued her graduate studies in Physics at the Johns Hopkins University, USA. She received her PhD degree in 2010 and took a postdoctoral research position at Harvard University for two years. From June 2012, she is an assistant professor at the School of Engineering and Sciences of our University and a Simons associate at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Italy.
Paula`s research interests center on solid state physics at the interface of theory and experiment. Her present work is focused on classical and quantum magnetism, elasticity and fluids.
